If you are planning to start a garden for the first time or even if you are an accomplished gardener there is a good deal of information available for free or for nominal cost.  These include US Government Publications as well as publications from your state. Almost every State University has an Extension Division which can provide information and tips on gardening in your state.

There are also free newsletters available. Simply search for gardens and sign up for newsletters that are offered.  There are thousands of books on gardening at your local library or that can be purchased online.  One of the best and cheapest online source for books about gardening is Alibris.   They offer both new and used books at substantial savings.

Another great source of gardening books or any other book is Amazon.com. Amazon allows you to find the book you want by title and author or to simply search by keyword.   Prices are very reasonable and they have a full array of books on any subject.

 T he internet is also a great place to look for gardening products  to make your work easier. The choices are greater than those at your local garden shop or nursery. The prices are often  substantially lower too.

One of my favorite online supplier is Garden Supply Company.  They offer a wide variety of products for the home gardener and provide excellent service.
